Saoirse Ronan stars in this acclaimed drama about a woman reclaiming her life

Rona, fresh out of rehab, returns to the wild Orkney Islands after more than a decade away. As she reconnects with the dramatic landscape where she grew up, memories of her childhood merge with the more recent challenging events that have set her on the path to recovery.

Our thoughts
Saorise Ronan is an incredible actress, and it's always a delight to see her on screen. This is based on a memoir by Amy Liptrot which was a best-selling book. But th thing that's most exciting for us is the director Nora Fingscheidt, who previously made the amazing System Crasher.

★★★★ A testament to the source material and Ronan’s tremendous performance. The Guardian
★★★★ Fingscheidt handles her true-life traumas with great care. Time Out
★★★★ It is a tale not so much of triumph as one of melancholy resilience. Screen Daily
