An intimate season of talks with our Archaeology Curator James Sainsbury and guest speakers.
Chanctonbury Ring is arguably the most famous of Sussex landmarks, crowned by a clump of trees that were originally planted in the 18th century. However the history of the site goes back at least six thousand years, and its development as a nationally significant site of pre-Christian religious activity will be explored in this lecture, along with tales of fortification, eccentric landowners and perhaps the Devil himself!
